Our Story
Every idea starts with a problem...
Our story begins back in 2004. Yeap Soon Aik, a young Multimedia university student, was struggling to find all the computer parts he needed to repair his old and slow computer.
After hours of frustration and days of painful trying he finally got the hardware he was looking for.
It was in this challenging situation when he saw a big opportunity. He realised that there was no vendor for computer hardware. That same year the idea of MyMaxPro was born. Time is precious and no one should spend it being stressed about not finding the right computer hardware, he thought.
Buying, repairing, selling - that was his strategy. Yeap Soon Aik first started selling his products on local malaysian forums and later on Malaysia’s first e-commerce platform lelong.com.my.
With his unique approach to solving IT related problems, his project quickly shifted from a living room startup to a fast growing business with the first MyMaxPro retail shop opened in Melaka in 2009.
While our company started as a hardware vendor, we wanted to position ourselves as a trusted IT partner. In 2011, we introduced professional consultation services to support our customers with managing their computer hardware. We’re no longer just an IT retailer, we’re now a full IT solution provider.
Our team's technical know-how was so much in demand that we opened 5 more retail shops in 2015 and so we were slowly establishing our name in the Malaysian IT market. But to have an impact we don’t grow alone - we grow together, which is why in 2017, we began donating PC’s to schools.
In 2019, we closed all our shops, brought our whole team together and moved to one big industrial area. This boosted our team spirit and allowed us to work even more professionally. But we wanted to go one step further. We as a company took a new approach to improving the structure of Malaysian businesses and started renting out computers and laptops. Our goal is to give them the flexibility they need and help them optimize their whole IT infrastructure.
In 2021, more than 100 units leave our warehouse every single week.
